Marrony , with full name Marrony da Silva Liberato (born February 5, 1999 in Volta Redonda ), is a Brazilian football player who has been under contract with the first division club Atlético Mineiro since June 2020 .

Club career

Marrony moved to the CR Vasco da Gama youth academy in 2015 . In January 2018 he was promoted to the first team and made his debut on January 24 in the 1: 2 away defeat against AD Cabofriense in the Campeonato Carioca .

Since his debut in the top Brazilian division , he was on September 7th (23rd matchday) when he came on for Yago Pikachu in the 2-1 away defeat by América Mineiro in the second half . He scored his first goal of the season on 25 September (26th matchday) in a 2-1 home win against EC Bahia . In the 2018 season he was used in 12 league games in which he scored a goal.

On February 17, 2019, Marrony won the Taça Guanabara with his club . In the next season of 2019 he became the undisputed regular player in the Almirante jersey . He ended the season with four goals and two assists, which he was able to collect in 34 league games. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , he only played 13 competitive games in the following 2020 season until he switched, in which he could not score a goal.

On June 15, 2020, Marrony moved to league rival Atlético Mineiro , who secured 56% of the transfer rights for a transfer fee of 21 million real and provided him with a five-year contract.
