Marshall GS Hodgson

Marshall GS Hodgson (born April 11, 1922 , † June 10, 1968 ) was an American historian and Islamic scholar who had started research on the assassins . His The Venture of Islam is a three-volume work on the history of Islam and its interaction with neighboring societies. For this work he was posthumously awarded the Ralph Waldo Emerson Prize of the Phi Beta Kappa Society in 1975 . Hodgson taught at the University of Chicago .
