Martín Benjamín Maldonado Valdés (born August 16, 1986 in Naguabo , Puerto Rico ) is a Puerto Rican American baseball player in Major League Baseball . He played his first game for the Milwaukee Brewers on September 3, 2011, and was traded to the Los Angeles Angels in the winter of 2016 . The 2017 season was extremely successful, he played 138 games (355 in the previous six years) and was awarded the Golden Glove Award .
