Martín Peña (born November 12, 1965 in León , Guanajuato ), also known by the nicknames Peñita and El Chavo , is a former Mexican football player who played predominantly in midfield .

career

"Peñita" began his professional career at his hometown club Unión de Curtidores and signed in 1987 with city ​​rivals Club León , with whom he was champion in the second division of Mexico in the 1989/90 season and thus had the opportunity for the first time in the 1990/91 season Liga MX , the top division in Mexico. In the following season 1991/92 "El Chavo" won the Mexican football championship and thus the most important title of his career with the "Esmeraldas". After he then moved to Club Necaxa for two seasons and to CF Pachuca for one season , he returned to the "Panzas verdes" in 1995.
