Marthabräu is a former beer brand from Fürstenfeldbruck , whose brewery is now used by the König Ludwig Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg .
history
The brewery, founded in 1573, became the Marthabräu after the first owner's first name "Martin" or "Marthe" .
In 1835 the brewery was taken over by the Mayr family and remained in the family until 1960. Before the Second World War, the company, managed by owner Julie Mayr, produced 10,000 hectoliters a year and in 1939 was the largest business tax payer in Fürstenfeldbruck. The devout Catholic Mayr was not a member of the NSDAP; she died on February 11, 1960 and bequeathed the brewery to the Archbishop's Clerical Foundation .
In 1980 it merged with the Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg , which has had its headquarters there ever since and continues to brew beer. The wheat beer types light, dark, crystal, light and alcohol-free are brewed in Fürstenfeldbruck.
Marthabräuhalle
1925 was built on the edge of the beer garden. The Marthabräuhalle has been a listed building since 1992.
history
At the beginning of 1925, the brewery owner Julie Mayr commissioned the architect Adolf Voll to build a festival hall west of the beer cellar of her brewery.
On May 25, 1925, the city's magistrate approved the plan for the construction of the summer hall.
After a construction period of 6 weeks, the inauguration took place on June 27, 1925 on the occasion of the 1st Upper Bavarian District Sports and Swimming Festival and the 40th founding festival of the Fürstenfeldbruck gymnastics club . Three months later the kitchen, bar and veranda were added.
construction
The hall, made entirely of wood, is self-supporting with a Zollinger roof over a span of 13.98 m in a wooden honeycomb structure and accordingly manages without supports or struts.
With a length of 25 m and a height of up to 11 m, the hall offers space for up to 600 people. Two roof riders provide ventilation.
