Martin Becker (born August 14, 1965 in Essen ) is a former German fistball player and current assistant coach of the German national fistball team.

Career as a player

During his active time he commuted between many clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen, TKD Duisburg, TH 1852 Hanover or TV Eibach. He played for a long time for the TH Hannover, with which he also won several of his titles. He ended his career as a player at Union Schick Freistadt in 2008.

Success as a player

Becker was very successful as a batsman in the club and also in the national team. In the club he won the German championship four times in the field and four times in the hall. Internationally, he won the European Cup twice indoors and six times on the field. He was able to win the World Cup twice. As a 71-time national player, he is a two-time World Games winner, four-time European champion and has won the world title three times.

Career as a coach

After the end of his career as an active player, Becker devoted himself to coaching - initially at TK Hannover. He was later appointed assistant coach by national coach and former teammate Olaf Neuenfeld . He no longer pursues this activity today. His main job was to train the batsmen.

Success as a trainer

As assistant coach of the German national team, he became fistball world champion in Austria in 2011. His protégés also succeeded at the World Cup in Colombia (Cali). At the European Championships in Austria, Olaf Neuenfeld's team won the bronze medal as the main coach.

Private

Becker is married and has a daughter (Jana) and a son (Marvin).
