Martin Christof Wittig (born January 20, 1964 ) is a German management consultant. Since May 2018 he has been working as a senior advisor for the management and strategy consultancy Bain & Company .

Life

Martin C. Wittig studied mining science and business administration at RWTH Aachen University . He graduated in mining. During his studies he worked as a miner . In 1995 he did his doctorate with a thesis on planning alternatives in mining at the Technical University of Berlin .

In 1995 he came to Roland Berger Holding GmbH because he happened to be sitting next to Roland Berger on a flight . In 1999 he was elected partner. Since January 2001 he has been managing partner and director of the Zurich branch. During his work as director, he built the then small Zurich office to number three in the market. In July 2003 Wittig was elected to Roland Berger's Global Executive Committee (EC) and in 2004 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In 2006 the partners confirmed him for a second term. Wittig was unanimously elected by 180 partners as the new chairman in July 2010. Wittig is particularly valued by Roland Berger for his skills as an entrepreneur and communicator. He stayed in this position until May 2013. His successor was Burkhard Schwenker .

Martin Wittig has been teaching strategies and business systems in the luxury goods industry at the University of St. Gallen at the Institute for Marketing since 2007 .

In his private life he collects art and is involved in socio-political organizations and associations. For example, he sits on the board of the Association for the Promotion of the Swiss Institute for Art Research.

Wittig lives in Silvaplana in the canton of Graubünden ( Switzerland ). He is Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for Switzerland, more precisely for the cantons of Schwyz and Zurich. Martin C. Wittig is a board member at Kühne & Nagel International in Schindellegi (member of the Audit Committee) and at UBS Europe SE, Frankfurt (Chairman Audit Committee). He is a member of the HSG Advisory Board.

Wittig has been a Senior Advisor for the financial services team of the international management consultancy Bain & Company since May 1, 2018 .
