Martin F. Tupper

Martin Farquhar Tupper (born July 17, 1810 in London , † November 1889 in Albury , Surrey ) was an English author and poet .

Life

Martin Tupper came from a Huguenot family . He studied law and theology at Christ Church College, Oxford.

His main work is Proverbial Philosophy , a moral teaching written in blank verse .

Tupper is known not least because Karl Marx had entered his name in the category of "aversion" in the poetry album of his daughter in addition to violet powder.
