Martin Galíndez

Martin Galíndez (* 1547 in Haro , † 1627 in Rascafría ) was a Spanish painter and wood carver .

Live and act

Galíndez was a student of the painter monk Vicente de Santo Domingo in the Estrella monastery near Logroño . From 1584 he lived as a monk and monastery lawyer in the Carthusian monastery El Paular near Segovia , where he also died.

Among his works as a painter include a Madonna of the Rosary , which he did for the guest rooms at the Paular Monastery, and a number of hermits -Bildnissen for the cap. de San Ildefonso . For his monastery church he carved a mass offering table , several choir doors, etc. He also tried his hand at being an art watchmaker .
