Martin Heisler

Martin Heisler (* 7. February 1977 in Aachen ) is a German film producer living predominantly Berlin .

Career

After his apprenticeship as a businessman for audiovisual media at Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) in Cologne, Martin Heisler studied creative film and television production at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). As a student, he worked as a production manager, unit manager and producer in the film business. After graduating in 2007 with Bastian Günther's debut film Autopiloten , Heisler founded the Berlin production company Lichtblick Media in 2008. He has been the sole partner and managing director since 2011.

Heisler is a member of the German and the European Film Academy , a graduate of EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs), member of the producers' association and lecturer for film and television production (including at the dffb). Numerous festival successes and prizes have already been celebrated, including a. 2010 at the Berlinale with the premiere of the documentary David Wants to Fly by David Sieveking, whose film Vergiss mein nicht won the main prize of the “Semaine de la critique” at the 2012 Locarno Film Festival. In 2016, Morris from America won two of the main awards at the Sundance Film Festival in the USA.

The Flare Film team (formerly Lichtblick Media) consists of Martin Heisler as managing director and producer, Gabriele Simon (story development, feature film production), Katharina Bergfeld (documentary production), Ruth Ersfeld (commercial management, production management) and a trainee. The production company stands for the development of materials for national and international cinema and television productions, both in the feature film and documentary film sector, as well as films for art house cinema. According to the website, the company is “working towards long-term, continuous cooperation with authors and directors who are characterized by creative talent and a special handwriting.”
