David Sieveking (born September 10, 1977 in Friedberg (Hessen) ) is a German film director , screenwriter , film editor and film producer .

Life

Sieveking grew up in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . After completing his civil service , Sieveking studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) from 2000 to 2007 . During his studies he worked as an editor, assistant director and actor for cinema and television, made his first short and documentary films and took part in the Berlinale Talent Campus for the first time. He completed his studies with the documentary Senegallemand , which premiered at the Munich Film Festival . He made his cinema debut in 2010 with the documentary David wants to fly , which was shown for the first time at the Berlin International Film Festival and then at over 40 international festivals.

Sieveking lives in Berlin with the film composer Jessica de Rooij , the couple has two daughters.
