Martin Horák (born September 16, 1980 in Mohelnice ) is a former Czech football player .

Career

Martin Horák started playing football at FK Mohelnice . At the age of 13, the defender moved to Sigma Olomouc . In 1998 he was loaned to LeRK Prostějov , for whom he made his debut in 1999 in the 2nd division.

In spring 2001 he played on loan for Viktoria Plzen and in autumn of the same year for FC Bohemians Prague . In January 2003 Horák was transferred to Sparta Prague for 19.5 million crowns. There he only made ten games and moved to Zenit St. Petersburg in early 2003 . Horák played regularly under the Czech coach Vlastimil Petržela .

In 2004 Horák moved to the Turkish club Denizlispor . There he made only four games and moved to FK Rostov in early 2005 . After a year he went to Shinnik Yaroslavl . For the 2007 season he signed a three-year contract with FK Rostov. In 2008, however, the Czech moved to FK Sibir Novosibirsk .

Since the 2012/13 season, Martin Horák played as a central defender at the Swiss Interregional 2nd League club FC Sirnach-Stella . He stayed there for three years. After a season at FC Uzwil, he ended his career in 2016.

National team

From 2001 to 2002 Horák played in the Czech U-21 national team , with which he became European champion in May 2002 .
