Martin Jörß

Martin Jörß (born July 6, 1967 in Aachen ) is a former Hamburg politician on the Green Alternative List (GAL) .

Life

After graduating from high school in Steglitz, Jörß studied physics at the TU Berlin , the FU Berlin and the University of Hamburg . This was followed by a doctoral degree and participation in a DFG project. In 1996, Jörß at Hamburg University in physics with the issue of investigation of conformal quantum field theory by Haag-Kastler networks of local observables his dissertation from. Jörß then worked as a partner at the consulting firm McKinsey and supported Jörg Dräger, among others, in the development of the university reform package . Jörß moved to the McKinsey Group's Beijing office in January 2004 . Before that, his main tasks were advising clients from Europe and the USA in the fields of railways and public transport .

Jörß has been a member of the Greens since 1987 and was a member of the Hamburg state executive from 1991 to 1993. From 1993 to 1997 Jörß was a member of the Hamburg Parliament . He sat for his group on the Budget Committee and the Science Committee. He was also the university political spokesman for his parliamentary group.
