Martin Kern (born February 28, 1981 in Tübingen ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Kern has been active in indoor volleyball since 1997. From 2003 he played for the regional division TuS Schladern , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2005. In 2006 the middle blocker moved to the regional league club TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen , with whom he was promoted to the second division again in 2009 as team captain. In 2011 TSG Solingen took over the second division pitch, which Kern played and was captain of until 2014.

Career Beach

Kern has also been active in beach volleyball since 2000. Until 2004 he played alongside Stefan Schmeckenbecher at national tournaments. From 2005 to 2008 he started with Maarten Lammen at European CEV tournaments. At the German Championships in Timmendorfer Strand in 2005, Kern / Lammen finished ninth and in 2006 and 2007 fifth.

Professional

Today, Kern is the managing director of a sports travel agency in Cologne .
