Martin Klarer (born April 19, 1982 in Ulm ) is a former German soccer player.

Career

In his youth Klarer played for SSV Ulm 1846 and 1. FC Nürnberg . He then moved to the Franconian U-23 team and played there in the Bavarian League until 2006 . After his contract expired, he moved to the Regionalliga Süd for FC Ingolstadt 04 . There he was only used regularly in the first half of the season and left the club after only one year.

From 2007 he played for 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 , where he was a regular from the start. In the first year he still played in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg, then the team qualified for the new fourth-class regional league, only to be promoted to the third league a year later as champions of the regional league south . He made his professional debut on July 25, 2009, when he was on the starting line-up in the 2-2 draw against Wuppertaler SV Borussia on the first day of the 2009/10 season. In two years professional league he was the backing of the team on the field and was appointed vice-captain behind goalkeeper Erol Sabanov . In the 2011/12 season, Sabanov resigned and Klarer should actually become the team captain. But then he got persistent calf problems that even necessitated surgery, and he almost missed the entire season. It was only enough for two missions. On May 30, 2012 it was announced that Klarer would end his career as a professional footballer.
