Martin Kopp

Martin Kopp (* 1875 in Stadlern , Kingdom of Bavaria , † December 12, 1952 in Munich ) was a German film producer .

Life

Before the First World War, Kopp showed films in Munich beer halls and thus made the new medium known. He has worked as a film entrepreneur since 1912 and in that year produced Karl Valentin's first film, Karl Valentin's Wedding , which ends with the spindly Valentin being crushed by his fat bride.

During the war he founded the "Münchner Wochenschau". In the years that followed, Kopp mainly produced short documentaries from Munich and the surrounding area and was also involved in several feature films and advertising films.
