history
Until the church is planted
The ruins of Reichenstein Castle are located in the municipality . In the 11th / 12th The reclamation took place in the 19th century. 1363 a separate parish is proven. Stadlern belonged to the Amberg Rent Office and the Murach Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
Incorporations
On July 1, 1974, a small part of the dissolved community of Schönau with about 75 inhabitants was incorporated.

coat of arms
Around 1970 the adoption of a municipal coat of arms was under discussion, but it did not materialize. In addition to Stadler, only three of the 2056 municipalities in Bavaria ( Elchingen , Prebitz and Schwebheim ) do not have their own coat of arms.
Economy and Infrastructure
According to official statistics, there were 73 employees at the place of work in the manufacturing sector and 8 in the trade and transport sector. There were a total of 215 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There was 1 company in manufacturing and 2 in construction. In addition, in 1999 there were 21 farms with an agricultural area of 368 ha, of which 134 ha were arable land and 233 ha were permanent green space.
tourism
The place is integrated into the recreation area "Schönseer Land". It owns the Reichenstein ski center with a summer toboggan run. Both facilities are currently no longer in operation.
Pilgrimage
The origin of the pilgrimage to “Our Lady” in Stadlern is not known. Stadlern became known in the Bohemian Forest through his image of grace "Our dear lady burned from the earth". For centuries people have made pilgrimages to Stadlern with their concerns about the image of grace. The feast of the patronage is August 15th, the Assumption of Mary into heaven. The Church of the Assumption of Mary is a Gothic building and dates from the 14th century.

- The 2017 Monument Protection Prize of the Upper Palatinate District went to the house at Weidinger Straße 1. The house with a half-hipped roof and plastered gable block construction is one of the last examples of the type of Böhmerwald house that used to be widespread in the Upper Palatinate-Czech border area . It is used as a holiday home.
