Martin Laube

Martin Laube (born April 2, 1965 ) is a German Protestant theologian .

After studying Protestant theology and philosophy in Bethel (Bielefeld) , Heidelberg and Munich , Laube wrote a dissertation on the analytical philosophy of religion in the 20th century with the title Im Bann der Sprache at the Institute for Systematic Theology at the Ludwig-Maximilians from 1994 to 1995 -University of Munich. After graduating as Dr. theol. (1995) he passed the second theological examination of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oldenburg in 1987 and was ordained in 1998 . From 1997 to 2001, Arbor Research Assistant at the Institute for Practical Theology at the Ludwig-Maximilians University before 2001 to the Westphalian Wilhelms University, joined Munster, where he worked as a research assistant at the Department of Systematic Theology at the theologian Friederike Nüssel work on Trutz Rendtorff's theory of Christianity with the title Theology and Modern Christianity , with which he completed his habilitation in 2005 . Laube worked from 2006 to 2008 as head of studies for theology, ethics and law at the Evangelical Academy in Loccum . In 2008 he was appointed professor for systematic theology at the University of Bonn . Since 2011, Laube has been a full professor of systematic theology at the chair of Reformed Theology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and heads the archive for the School of Religious History .

Laube is a member of the scientific advisory board for the fifth church membership investigation of the EKD , the theological committee of the Union of Evangelical Churches (UEK) and chairman of the board of trustees of the Center for Health Ethics in Hanover. In addition, Laube is on the board of the Ernst Troeltsch Society and a member of the Schleiermacher Society.

His main research interests include Reformed theology, theory of Christianity, dogmatics under the conditions of modernity, philosophy of religion , - sociology and social theory as well as Protestantism in the young Federal Republic (1949–1989). He is co-editor of the magazine for theology and church as well as the publication series Religion in der Gesellschaft.
