Martin Lehnfeld

Martin Lehnfeld (* 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian violinist , a member of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and is active in the fields of chamber music , tango , Wienerlied and folk music .

Career

At the age of eleven, Lehnfeld studied with Thomas Kakuska at what is now the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . Since 1980 he has been a primary violinist with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to his work for the Symphoniker, Lehnfeld is active in other initiatives and musical genres. He was a member of the Collegium Musicum Alte Universität under Martin Sieghart . He also worked as a violist with the Wiener Concertverein and as a violinist with the Johann Strauss Ensemble . He was also the electric bass player in the jazz ensemble Das Septett .

Lehnfeld, who also gave individual concerts as a violinist and violist, also plays in the tango formations Tango Vivo and Tango Si . He is also a member of the Vindobona Schrammeln quartet. As part of these activities, he created compositions and arrangements. He also worked as a violinist, as a performance at the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris on May 20, 1988 in the poetry of Friedrich Hahn's Die Ufer , set to music by Rudi Aigelreiter . One station was listed.

In 2010, Martin Lehnfeld was appointed professor by the Republic of Austria for his diverse musical work.
