Martin Litschgi

Martin Litschgi (* 1972 in Basel ) is a German clarinetist .

Life

After taking classes with David Glenn (ARCM London) and preparing for studies with Uwe Möckel (ensemble recherche / Staatsorchester Hannover ), he studied clarinet with François Benda and chamber music at the Basel School of Music , which he graduated with honors. He also took part in master classes for chamber music with Martin Spangenberg.

Martin Litschgi gives concerts as a soloist and chamber musician. He appears at festivals and gives premieres and world premieres. Contemporary composers dedicated solo and chamber music works to him. His musical work was recorded on CD and radio recordings. He also played in orchestras as a solo clarinetist.

Since 1996 he has been artistic director of the ensemble pittoresque and since 1999 a solo member of the Camerata Instrumentale Freiburg. He also works as a lecturer. Since 1990 he has been preparing for competitions, entrance exams and auditions for scholarships, and since 2000 for university exams and orchestral auditions, and he teaches alongside his studies. From 1999 to 2004 he was Jost Meier's assistant for chamber music at the Basel University of Music.

In addition, in 2008 and 2010 he was a juror at the international competition Ostracized Music in Schwerin and from 2006 to 2010 a member of the federal jury of Jugend musiziert of the German Music Council .

Martin Litschgi has been the artistic and educational director of the International Summer Academy for Music at Schloss Beuggen , Rheinfelden, Germany , since 2006 .
