FIM Superstock 1000 Cup
The FIM Superstock 1000 Cup was a racing series for motorcycles that has been advertised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) since 2005 and took place as part of the supporting program of the European events of the Superbike World Championship . In the 2019 season, the successor to the series will be held as part of the Alpe Adria Championship.
The championship served as a springboard for young pilots into the Supersport and Superbike World Championship. Some Superbike World Championship teams even had their own junior teams in the cup.
history
The forerunner of the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup was the Superstock 1000 class of the European Motorcycle Championship , which was held from 1999 to 2004 as well as 2017 and 2018.
In the 2010 season, the Italian Ayrton Badovini made a novelty on a BMW S 1000 RR from the BMW Motorrad Italia STK team . He won the first nine races and was crowned champion of the season at Silverstone after the seventh of ten races. For the German manufacturer BMW this was the first title in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup.
Regulations
The championship was advertised for superbikes in the 1000 cc category. The technical regulations were designed to be as closely as possible to series production and allowed only minor differences between the racing machines used and the street versions of the motorcycles available for sale. It was driven on treaded uniform tires from Pirelli , the maximum age of the drivers was 28 years.
