Raffaele De Rosa (born March 25, 1987 in Naples ) is an Italian motorcycle racer .

Career

After four years as a regular rider in the 125 cm³ class of the motorcycle world championship , Raffaele De Rosa switched to the 250 cm³ class of the World Championship for the 2009 season , where he rode a 250cc Honda from the Scot Racing Team alongside the Japanese Hiroshi Aoyama started. The Italian showed consistent performance, achieved twelve top 10 placings in 16 races and achieved his best results of the season with third place in Australia and Valencia . In the overall standings, De Rosa finished sixth, which earned him the title of Rookie of the Year . Teammate Aoyama became world champion.

In the 2010 season Raffaele De Rosa started in the newly created Moto2 class of the motorcycle world championship. He competed for the French team Tech 3 Racing on the side of Yūki Takahashi .
