Martin Neumeyer (administrative lawyer)

Martin Neumeyer (* 1960 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German lawyer and chairman of the board of the Bayerische Staatsforsten AöR . As ministerial director he was head of the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry and previously head of the Bavarian State Minister for Federal and European Affairs in the State Chancellery . Before that, he was government spokesman for the Bavarian state government.

Neumeyer was considered one of the closest confidants of the former Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber , but was extremely controversial because of his enormous influence among many members of the CSU .

biography

Neumeyer completed an apprenticeship as a banker and studied law in Munich. From 1990 worked as a judge at the Munich District Court , first became press spokesman for the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the federal government in 1991 , from 1994 press spokesman for the Bavarian State Chancellery, then government spokesman for the Bavarian State Chancellery, and since January 1, 2006 head of the State Chancellery for federal and European affairs . In this role, according to statements by Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer , he is said to have forwarded confidential information from the CSU board to the US embassy. From March 1, 2010 to March 31, 2015, Neumeyer was head of the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry. On April 1, 2015, he became Chairman of the Board of Bayerische Staatsforsten AöR . Neumeyer lives in Munich and has two children.
