Martin Rückbrodt

Martin Rückbrodt (born May 23, 1986 ) is a former German rower .

Rückbrodt started for the Hamburger and Germania Ruder-Club . In 2004 he was German junior champion in lightweight - quadruple sculls and runner-up in one . In 2005 he was eighth German year-old champion in the U23 age group . At international level, he won a world championship gold medal in the four-man category in the U23 junior division in 2008 .

In 2006 Rückbrodt first took part in the world championships of the open age group in Eton , UK , where he won a silver medal in the lightweight quadruple sculls. In the following year at the World Championships in Munich he was also runner-up in the lightweight eighth team with his brother Ole . From 2008 he started in the open weight class, but he could not win a medal with the German men's eighth at the European Championships in Athens. In 2009 in Poznan , he finished his last World Championship participation in the four- man without a helmsman and finally ended his active career as a rower after finishing 11th in the two-man without a helmsman at the European Rowing Championships in 2011 .
