Martin Schulze (theologian)

Martin Schulze (born January 26, 1866 in See, Kr. Rothenburg , Oberlausitz , † October 4, 1943 in Königsberg ) was a German Protestant theologian and rector of the University of Königsberg.

Life

Schulze studied a. a. in Halle with Martin Kähler theology. After studying theology, he received his doctorate from the University of Breslau in February 1893 . Just eight months later he qualified as a professor at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Breslau for New Testament and dogmatics . In 1899 he was appointed associate professor in Breslau. In 1904 he received a full professorship for systematic theology at the University of Königsberg . In 1910 he became honorary philistine of the Königsberg Wingolf . In 1914/15, Schulze was rector of the University of Königsberg. In 1934 he retired.

Schulze married Bertha von Randow on June 4, 1906 in Niesky, Rothenburg / Oberlausitz district.
