Martin Weller (born 1955 in Helmstedt ) is a German classical trumpeter .

Life

Weller was born in Helmstedt and grew up in Königslutter . After graduation in 1974 at the High School Julianum in Helmstedt he first began a study of musicology , art history and literature in Göttingen and later - as a self-taught on the trumpet - an instrumental studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Hamburg . After completing his studies, he got an engagement at the State Theater in southern France and in 1983 became principal trumpeter of the Braunschweig State Orchestra . He is also currently the orchestra director of the Braunschweig State Orchestra.

At irregular intervals, Martin Weller organizes and moderates various youth and school concerts in which, together with the Braunschweig State Orchestra, he explains and brings students closer to classical music .

In 2004, 2007 and 2010 he took over the management and organization of the Festive Days of New Music from the Braunschweig State Theater . He is also a lecturer at the TU Braunschweig .

Martin Weller lives in Peine and is married to Margit Weller. The marriage resulted in three children.
