Festive days of new music
FESTLICHETAGENEUERMUSIK is a music festival that has been organized every three years by the Braunschweig State Theater since 2004 .
history
The festival took place for the first time in 2004 as the successor to the Festive Days of New Chamber Music . Various musicians and orchestras play pieces that are classified as New Music under the artistic direction of Martin Weller . In addition to the Braunschweig State Theater, temporary concert halls , such as Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport , Konrad Shaft or the city of Braunschweig's crematorium in the main cemetery, serve as performance venues . On 17 June 2007, the experienced helicopter string quartet ofKarlheinz Stockhausen its German premiere.
The Louis Spohr Music Prize , which has been awarded since 1953, is presented as part of the festival . The 2010 award winner is Olga Neuwirth .
