Martina Hasseler

Martina Karola Hasseler (* 1968 in Leer ) is a German nursing and rehabilitation scientist and university professor. It is mainly concerned with the nursing and health care of vulnerable population groups.

Life

Martina Karola Hasseler initially trained as a nurse and worked in this professional position in the hospital, in outpatient care and in the nursing home. She also gained practical experience in the international arena. After completing her apprenticeship, she graduated from high school and between 1992 and 1997 studied health sciences, Protestant theology as well as professional and business education at the University of Osnabrück . From 1997 to 1999, also at the University of Osnabrück, he studied nursing science with a supplementary examination. In 2000 Martina Hasseler completed her doctorate with the title “Postpartum Care and Care. New integrated puerperium concepts ”. This was followed by substitute professorships at the Ev. University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, as well as the substitute professorship for “Nursing Care Research” at the Institute for Public Health at the University of Bremen . From 2013 to 2017 Martina Hasselerin was a professor at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences Braunschweig / Wolfenbüttel for gerontological care, health sciences and rehabilitation. Various research and study visits took her to India, Australia, Great Britain and Scandinavia.

In 2015, he completed his habilitation at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in the Faculty of Education on the subject of "People with disabilities as a vulnerable population group in health and nursing care" combined with the Venia Legendi for rehabilitation and rehabilitation education. In 2017, Martina Hasseler was offered the professorship for nursing and therapeutic sciences at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , which Martina Hasseler held until 2019. Since then, Martina Hasseler has been Professor of Clinical Nursing at Ostfalia University. Since March 2020 she has also been Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ostfalia University. She is also a private lecturer at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg at the Faculty of Education.

Research priorities

Martina Hasseler's research interests lie in the area of ​​health and nursing care for vulnerable population groups. It also deals with issues of interprofessional cooperation as well as the framework conditions for nursing care and the shortage of skilled workers in nursing.
