Martina Wurzer (born June 20, 1980 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ). From 2010 to 2015 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

Wurzer graduated from the Franziskaner Public Gymnasium in Hall from 1990 to 1996 and then from 1996 to 1998 at the private upper level secondary school St. Karl in Volders , where she took her Matura . From 1998 she studied political science and gender studies at the University of Vienna and graduated with the academic degree Mag.a phil. from.

After graduating from high school, Wurzer worked as an interviewer at the Institute for Empirical Social Research / IFES from 1998 to 1999, then between 2000 and 2004 she worked in the executive organizational work of the Green Alternative Youth. From 2004 to 2005 she was on maternity leave substitute for science and research in the Green Town Hall Club and from 2005 to 2006 she headed the youth campaign for the 2005 municipal council elections. Politics and functions

Wurzer was a board member and activist of the Green Alternative Youth from 1999 to 2005. In 2002 she was elected a member of the State Conference of the Vienna Greens , in which she also took over the chairmanship in 2006. In November 2008 she was elected to the board of directors of the Green Women Vienna, where on November 30, 2010 she took over the function of the state spokeswoman for the Green Women Vienna. From 2005 to 2010 she was a district councilor in the 2nd district of Leopoldstadt and ran for the Greens in the state and municipal council elections in Vienna. As a result, on November 25, 2010, she was sworn in as a member of the Vienna State Parliament or a member of the Vienna City Council and on that date also took on the role of spokeswoman for women and for education and science within the Green Town Hall Club.
