Martini Church

The Protestant Martini Church is at August-Bebel-Straße 66 in the district town of Mühlhausen in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

history

In 1358 the church was first mentioned in an estate letter. The small hall church without a choir was taken over by the Teutonic Order in 1364 and expanded by adding a choir and tower.

The externally accessible ground floor of the church tower located chapel was decorated in the second half of the 15th century with paintings.

The half-timbered tower of the tower was built in 1735, in 1870 the church received the ogival wooden barrel. The altarpiece was created by a Mühlhausen painter.

Since 2007 the church has been a youth church through a usage agreement with the Martinsgemeinde .
