The Martinsklause from Remsfeld is a restaurant . They originally stood in Remsfeld , in the municipality of Knüllwald in Schwalm-Eder district in Hesse (Germany), and was in the Hessenpark in Neu-Anspach translocated .

history

The Martinsklause is a half-timbered building made of two parts. The right residential part of the complex dates from the year 1723. In the period around 1830/40 a barn was added in the middle and in 1922 a stable was added to the left. These two parts of the building have not been preserved in their original form, but, like the basement, were reconstructed in the Hessenpark.

Around 1770 a brandy tavern was set up on the mezzanine floor of the house. On the upper floor there were guest rooms and bedrooms. In 1892 the owner at the time, Adam Martin, built a dance hall on the upper floor of the barn and expanded the taproom. When the stable building was added in 1922, the dance hall on the upper floor was significantly enlarged. In the 1950s the inn was called Martinsklause, which it also bears after the reconstruction in the Hessenpark.

In 1976 the building in Remsfeld was dismantled. The materials were stored in the Hessenpark and the house was then rebuilt there from 2012 to 2014. Today it is operated as a museum restaurant. There are also exhibitions about the history of Remsfeld, Martinsklause and beer brewing.
