The Martinsstift is a listed building complex in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located north of the historic Quedlinburger Neustadt at the addresses Kleersstrasse 19, 20 and Reichenstrasse 23. It is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a monastery.

Architecture and history

The monastery goes back to a non-profit foundation of the Quedlinburg mayor Johann Martin Bethge in 1730. The elongated brick building on Kleersstraße dates from 1868 and is built in the neo-Gothic style. The various gables of the house are remarkable . The property was built as a hospital and served as free accommodation for those in need. In addition to the main building, also known as Martinsstift or Martinshof in the narrower sense, the complex also includes the St. Annen branch and the Totenkopf House.

The property of the Martinsstift covers 2,300 m². The living space is given as 1133 m², the number of rooms as 45.

The owner is the Wohnungswirtschaftsgesellschaft mbH Quedlinburg. Currently (as of 2013) the property listed as in need of major renovation is vacant and for sale.
