Martyn Bernard
Martyn Bernard ( Martyn John Bernard ; born December 15, 1984 in Wakefield ) is a British high jumper .
In 2005 he won the bronze medal at the Universiade in İzmir . The following year, starting for England , he won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and was eliminated from the qualification at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg .
The following year he won bronze at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham and finished 14th at the World Championships in Osaka .
A ninth place at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing was followed by a bronze medal at the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2010 .
Martyn Bernard is 1.95 m and weighs 84 kg. He is trained by Dan Pfaff and starts for the Wakefield Harriers. From 2004 to 2007 he studied psychology at Liverpool John Moores University .
