Marvin Antonio Chávez (born November 3, 1983 in La Ceiba ) is a Honduran football player .

Club career

Chavez moved to FC Dallas in the North American professional league MLS at the age of 25 and came there on September 13, 2009 against Los Angeles Galaxy for his first appearance. It took over a year before he scored his first goal in the MLS on September 26, 2010 in the game against Sporting Kansas City with the goal that made it 1-0. After 67 missions, he moved to the San José Earthquakes , for which he scored five goals in 50 games. In January 2014, he moved to the Colorado Rapids , which he left after four unsuccessful months in which he was only four times in the squad and completed two short assignments. Chávez has been playing for CD Chivas USA since May 2014 . For his first appearance for the team from Carson he came on May 11, 2014, when he came on in the game against his previous club from Colorado in the 57th minute for Agustín Pelletieri and he scored two goals.

National team

Chavez won with the Honduran national soccer team , the 2011 Copa Centroamericana . In this tournament he was used four times and scored one goal. During the qualification for the 2014 World Cup , he was used nine times and was then appointed to the squad for the World Cup in Brazil .
