Marvin Renato Emnes (born May 27, 1988 in Rotterdam , the Netherlands ) is a Dutch football player .
Career
Emnes started his career in the youth of Sparta Rotterdam . He made his professional debut in the 2005/06 season, the following season he was named Player of the Year by Sparta fans.
On July 4, 2008, Emnes signed a four-year contract with Middlesbrough FC for a transfer fee of £ 3.2 million.
He made his debut for Boro in the League Cup against Yeovil Town on August 27. He scored his first and to date his only league goal for Middlesbrough in the game against Swansea City on August 15, 2009. Emnes played in two test matches at Fortuna Düsseldorf during the 2010 summer break , but could not recommend himself for a contract .
On January 31, 2014, Emnes returned to Swansea City - initially on loan until the end of the 2013-14 season . He was then given a permanent contract for three years.
In the summer of 2017 he moved to the Turkish first division club Akhisar Belediyespor . In April 2018, his contract with Akhisar was terminated.
National team
Emnes was part of the U-17 team that finished third in the 2005 U-17 World Cup in Peru. For the U-21 he came to three missions.
