The Marvin Lee Stadium is a football stadium in Macoya , Tunapuna-Piarco region in Trinidad , Trinidad and Tobago . Immediately adjacent is the Dr. João Havelange Center of Excellence , a football academy. Currently, the stadium is mostly for football matches of Joe Public FC used. It has space for 6,000 spectators. The stadium was named after the former captain of the U-20 national soccer team, Marvin Lee . It was the first stadium in the Caribbean to have artificial turf in 2007 . This cost TT $ 8 million .
