Mary Anne Feeney is an American journalist and event organizer .

Professional background

Mary Anne Feeney is Senior Director of External Relations at the International Peace Institute (IPI), which she has worked for since November 2007. She leads an event planning team and organizes IPI meetings and events, including policy forums, book launches, conferences, seminars and workshops. The International Peace Institute is an independent, not-for-profit research and development facility in New York that works closely with the Secretariat and members of the United Nations. It specializes in multilateral approaches to peace and security issues and develops solutions to emerging international problems and conflicts.

Before joining the IPI, Mary Anne Feeney worked as an Executive Coordinator at Amnesty International in the USA. There she was the link between the managing director and the employees. She developed a fundraising event and media outreach strategy, coordinated special events for the director, attended various meetings on behalf of the director, and spoke with the research unit and related programs to plan campaign efforts in launching actions and reports, and published the internal national newsletter.

She received her bachelor's degree in communications with a major in journalism from Fordham University and has completed several postgraduate studies in international relations at New York University .
