Mary Hawkesworth
Mary Hawkesworth (born June 26, 1952 ) is an American political scientist . She has been the publisher of the trade journal Signs since 2005 .
Live and act
In the early 1970s, Hawkesworth studied at the University of Massachusetts Amherst , where she earned a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in political science. She then completed a degree in political science at Georgetown University with a doctorate with honors.
After a brief stint as a paralegal with the Drug Abuse and Mental Health Administration in Rockville , Maryland , she began teaching political science at Georgetown University in 1978 . Since 1998 she has been teaching at the Faculty of Women's Studies and Gender Studies at Rutgers University , where she has been dean since 2007 .
