Maryam Jameelah
Maryam Jameelah (born on 23. May 1934 as Margret Marcus in New Rochelle , New York , died on 31 October 2012 in Lahore , Pakistan ) was an American-Pakistani author and personality of Islam.
Maryam Jameelah was born in New Rochelle, New York State in 1934 to a Jewish family. Her father was born in Germany. She completed her college education at New York University before graduation. She accepted Islam in 1961 and emigrated to Pakistan in 1962. She wrote on Islamic subjects and was the author of more than 30 books on the history and culture of Islam, including Islam and Orientalism .
