Maschmeijer Aromatics ( Dutch : Parfumfabriek A. Maschmeijer ) was a fragrance and flavor company that operated in Amsterdam between 1900 and 1960. It traded both raw materials and finished products. From the beginning she also ran warehouses in Paris and New York . Later there were also branches in Cologne and Milan .

The company was founded in 1900 as an "organic chemistry products" factory; H. Products for the manufacture of perfumes, toilet soap, confectionery, import and export of essential oils and dyes. The founder was the organic chemist August Maschmeijer Jr. (1878-1936). He was interested in the fine arts and supported the painters Leo Gestel , Piet Wiegman and Dirk Filarski , among others .

In 1907 the factory moved to new premises in Omval (Amsterdam). In 1919 the company employed the perfumer Carl Schlabs , who created his own line called CS Perfumes . These perfumes became popular mainly in India, Pakistan and the Middle East. The company founder August Maschmeijer moved with his family to 'De Zuilenhof' outside of Bergen in 1924 . In 1954 the legal form of the company was changed from a family-owned private company (besloten vennootschap met beperkte aansprakelijkheid) to a public limited company (naamloze vennootschap).

In 1960 the company was taken over by Naarden International Holland BV (Chemische Fabrik Naarden, CFN), which later became part of Quest International. At around the same time, a new company was opened in Chennai (India) under the name Maschmeijer Aromatics (India) Ltd. founded. The Dutch company Maschmeijer Aromatics had its technical know-how transferred to the Indian company. They have also authorized the exclusive use of their patent mark, design, certification marks, processes and methods of production for the manufacture and sale of this product in India. The Dutch company contributed 49% of the subscribed capital and received 49% of the shares. The remains of the factory in the Netherlands were demolished in the 1990s, while the Indian company is still producing fragrances and musk, as well as flavorings especially for use in confectionery, chocolates, milk and related products.
