Ezeiza massacre

In the Ezeiza massacre on June 20, 1973 , members of the Peronist political right wing shot at members of the Peronist political left wing, including Montoneros activists, on the return of Juan Perón from Spanish exile . At least 13 people died and 365 were injured. According to the newspaper, the number of victims was far higher. When Perón arrived, 3.5 million people had gathered at Ezeiza Airport . It was the largest demonstration in Argentine history. From the platform Perón was supposed to speak from, snipers opened fire on the crowd.
