Massimo Guglielmi (director)

Massimo Guglielmi (* 1954 in Venice ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Guglielmi is a graduate of DAMS in Bologna and has worked for television since 1980, where he a. a. directed the television film Ragazzi a rischio . In 1988 he directed the big screen for the first time; Rebus was a game with different realities and received a lot of attention, but was received coldly by the critics and suffered from the peculiarity of the rental conditions at the time. Four years later, Gangsters was another interesting contribution to the new generation of Italian cinema, telling the story of four partisans and their struggle against fascism. Despite the renewed failure, Guglielmi presented the road movie L'estate di Bobby Charlton in 1995 .

After a film released in 1996, it took almost ten years to get to Guglielmi's L'inquilino di Via Nikoladze and a documentary that examines Pier Paolo Pasolini's relationship to death. His 2010 Russian co-production La prima notte della luna was shown at the Moscow Film Festival.
