The Mastaunspitze is a 3200 m high mountain in the South Tyrolean part of the Ötztal Alps .
Location and surroundings
The Mastaunspitze is located in the southeast branch of the Saldurkamm between the Schlandrauntal in the west and the Schnalstal in the east. The closest village is the village of Our Lady .
Routes to the summit
The summit is relatively unknown among mountaineers and hikers and is therefore rarely climbed. From the starting point, Our Lady in Schnalstal Valley, you can ascend to the Mastaun Valley via marked hiking trails by first following the path towards Mastaunjoch. Around where the valley bends in a north-westerly direction, the path is left in a westerly direction and ascended over the striking eastern rib of the Mastaunspitze. There is one climbing point with difficulty level UIAA I to be mastered. Finally, the summit is easily reached via the southeast ridge.
