Mastbruch is a part of the Paderborn district of Schloss Neuhaus / Sande with approx. 6000 inhabitants. It is characterized by a light development predominantly with single-family houses.

The name has its origins in the Middle Ages : At that time, many farmers were fattening pigs in the area of ​​today's settlement. In addition, the area was very humid, which in geography is called a rupture . The colloquial term "Mastbruch" has been preserved and is now the official name for this area of Neuhaus Castle east of Dubelohstrasse .

Mastbruch was never a politically independent municipality , but, like Sennelager, has always belonged to the municipality of Schloss Neuhaus, which has been a part of the city of Paderborn since January 1st, 1975.
