Headquarters in Gelsenkirchen

The Masterflex SE is a medium-sized, plastic processing , publicly traded companies .

The company was founded under Masterflex Kunststofftechnik GmbH in 1987 in Herten / Westphalia. The owners were the Herzog, Krischik, Raschen and Bischoping families. Andreas Bastin has been the CEO since April 1, 2008.

In 1994 the company was relocated to Gelsenkirchen , where it is still based today. It is considered an economically important company for the structurally weak city of Gelsenkirchen.

Today the Masterflex Group operates at 12 locations around the world: in Europe , America and Asia . The sales total was in 2014 63 million euros, the EBITDA 9.2 million, the operating result ( EBIT ) amounted to (2014) 6.3 million euros, representing a margin on sales of 10.1%.

Products

Masterflex manufactures hoses and connection systems for various industrial applications. The main products are hoses made from polyurethane , for example suction and delivery hoses . Masterflex also sells electrically heated hoses under the templine brand .

Growth philosophy

Since the successful completion of the restructuring , the company wants to grow above average on the two pillars of internationalization and product innovations in the hose business. To this end, some new activities were started around 2015, for example in Russia and Brazil or especially in Asia, especially China . In addition, the group always brings new bottles on the market, such as the airbag "templine" the spiral hose Master-PUR Trivolution or flame-retardant hoses for about welding robot .

Restructuring

From 2008 to 2010 the company was successfully restructured. The investments acquired between 2000 and 2005 outside of the core business with high-tech hoses, which were not all successful, were gradually sold. Since the end of 2010, the company has been concentrating completely on its core business with connection solutions made from sophisticated plastics. As part of the internationalization strategy, the 2012 Annual General Meeting also decided to convert it into an SE (European stock corporation). The legal form was converted into an SE on October 1, 2012. Since 2015, the company has been eligible for dividends again .

Group

Masterflex SE, based in Gelsenkirchen, is the parent company in which, in addition to the group holdings, the operative business with spiral hoses in Gelsenkirchen is handled. There are also four subsidiaries operating in Germany - Matzen & Timm GmbH in Norderstedt / Hamburg (100%), Novoplast Schlauchtechnik GmbH and FLEIMA-PLASTIC GmbH in Wald-Michelbach / Odenwald, and since December 2016 APT GmbH in Neuss. Ltd.), China (Masterflex Hoses Kunshan Co. Ltd.).

Criticism of corporate policy

Criticism of the company policy with regard to the treatment of employees with regard to the compatibility of family and work came up on the occasion of an article in Der Spiegel in 2009. There, the story of a managerial employee is told who was massively bullied by the company after taking the parental leave he is legally entitled to when his third child was born and who was finally fired . In 2012, Masterflex was awarded the “Family-friendly company 2012” seal by the Gelsenkirchen alliance for families.
