Mataika Tuicakau
Mataika Tuicakau was a Fijian shot putter and discus thrower .
At the British Empire Games in Auckland in 1950 , he won the shot put and won silver in the discus throw.
His national record in the shot put of 15.48 m, which he set in Suva on April 23, 1951 , lasted until 2003. In 1990 he was inducted into the Fiji Sports Hall of Fame . He was posthumously honored in 2010 by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) as one of the founders of Fijian sport.
