Mathias Kaineder

Mathias Kaineder (* 1987 in Linz ) is an Austrian musician, songwriter and actor.

life and career

Kaineder graduated from the musical branch of the Adalbert-Stifter-Gymnasium (Linz) in 2006 and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (majoring in singing, graduated in 2013). In 2005 he founded the now internationally renowned vocal ensemble LALÁ with 3 schoolmates . In 2013 he founded the Austrian pop band folkshilfe . He left the band in 2016 to take better care of his family. He started acting at a young age at "theater.kirchschlag", and later specialized in the genre of improvisational theater . 2013–2015 he was a member of the improv theater group “Humorvorsorge”. Since 2018 he has been working in the improv group "zebras".

He is married and has 3 children.

  • Overall winner of the International Anton Bruckner Choir Competition in Linz (LALÁ)

  • Winner of the Xing-Hai Prize of Music at the first international Xing-Hai Choir Championship in Guangzhou, China, in the categories "Pop / Jazz / Gospel", "Folklore" and "Mixed Choirs" Platinum Medal for Excellent Interpretation (LALÁ)

  • Winner of the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the category “Songwriter of the Year” together with Florian Ritt, Gabriel Fröhlich and Paul Slavicek for the single “Mir laungts” (folkshilfe)
