Mathias Klasenius

Mathias Klasenius (born April 28, 1975 ) is a Swedish assistant referee . He took part in the 2012 European Championship and the 2014 World Championship .

Career

Klasenius made his debut in 1998 as a referee at the regional association level. In 2004 he was on the sidelines for the first time in the Allsvenskan . After assisting on an international level since 2001, he has been a FIFA assistant referee since 2007 .

Klasenius works mainly with the chief referee Jonas Eriksson . In 2012, the two led two games at the European Championship finals with Stefan Wittberg , the following year including a semi-final game with Daniel Wärnmark as a further assistant, three games at the 2013 U-20 World Cup in Turkey and the 2013 UEFA Super Cup game between the Bayern Munich and Chelsea . At the 2014 World Cup finals, the three were part of the nine UEFA referee teams, and they oversaw three games in total.

Klasenius works full-time as a bank clerk in Örebro .
