Mathias Münz

Mathias Münz (born September 13, 1967 in Berlin ) is a former German volleyball player and current coach.

Career

Münz began his career as a player in 1977 at Rotation Berlin . In 1981 he moved to TSC Berlin , with whom he played in the Bundesliga. In 1987 he was coach of the high school group of the Humboldt University of Berlin . In 1993 he took over the training at Post SV Berlin . Three years later he moved to the Bundesliga club SCC Berlin within the capital . From 2000 to 2002 he worked for the league competitor SV Bayer Wuppertal . He then went to the Brandenburg association Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausenwho had just barely avoided relegation from the second division. Four years later, the Netzhoppers were promoted to the first division with coins. In 2008 Münz left the club and moved to the women's Bundesliga club Köpenicker SC . He later worked as a regional trainer in Berlin and assistant trainer for the German national junior team. In 2011 he returned to the men's Bundesliga and became a coach at Chemie Volley Mitteldeutschland . In his first season he missed qualifying for the play-offs there in the last game of the main round. In March 2013, Münz was given leave of absence.
