Mathieu Heijboer (born February 4, 1982 in Dordrecht ) is a Dutch sports director and former cyclist .

Athletic career

Mathieu Heijboer won the Dutch one-day race Grand Prix Wieler Revue in 2002 . In 2003 he joined the Löwik-Tegeltoko team and after a year switched to the farm team of the Dutch cycling team Rabobank . Here he was able to win the prologue of the Boucles de la Mayenne in 2005 . From 2006 to 2008 Heijboer drove for the French ProTour team Cofidis . In 2007 he started at the Giro d'Italia , which he did not finish. At the end of the 2008 season he ended his active career because of health problems with his right leg.

Professional

Heijboer then became a trainer for Team Rabobank , later Team Lotto NL-Jumbo . There he works as a sports director and as a time trial trainer (as of 2016).
